Reading
Here are a few of the places where I enjoy hanging out. I'll need to clean that out someday, but let's start with the unavoidable popular and graphic places of the Internets: Questionable Content, Something Positive, A Softer World, xkcd, PhD Comics, GraphJam and Post Secret.
Then we have my favorite women scientists (but hey, they write beautifully and wittily and you don't need to be a woman nor a scientist to enjoy their blogs): I'll list Katie at Minor Revisions, Dr Isis, Ethics and Science, Gentleman's C and Professor in Training for now. Oh, and New Kid deserves an academic mention although she is not a scientist but a historian working her way through law school.
Even if you are not a scientist, much understandable scientific hotness and myth debunking can be found at Bad Astronomy, Bad Science and Science Based Medicine.
For feminist and political conversations with a side of snark, I hang out at Margaret and Helen, Shakesville, The Third Estate or Tiger Beatdown.
I am not in the mood of categorizing further so I'll give you a big bundle of goodness with AliThinks, The Bloggess, Buffalo Mama, Glossed Over, Jo(e) and Mimi Smartypants.
All these 'Merkins are really nice, you think, but what about the UK? And I bring you Brennig Jones, Jimmsy Jampots, Little Red Boat, Non-Working Monkey, Smaller than Life, and Whoopee.
